NO FORMALIN. 10-14 Business Days *This is a referred test through the Minnesota Urolith Center which provides complimentary stone analysis for Veterinary Species. Samples can be directly submitted to the Minnesota Urolith center. More information regarding submitting samples can be found here: https://www.urolithcenter.org/ If submitting through the UKVDL, the below information must be provided on the submission form: 1. What was the retrieval method for the stone? 2. Previous history of uroliths/stones? 3. Was Allopurinol given at any time? 4. What is the antibiotic history within 1 month of urolith detection? 5. Any previous illness or injury? $50.00 fee for shipping $50.00 fee for shipping Referred test through the Minnesota Urolith Center performing Quantitative mineral analysis utilizing optical crystallography and infrared spectroscopy

Diagnostic Plans Canine Respiratory Panel Respiratory swabs (nasal and/or nasopharyngeal) from clinical cases or tissues from respiratory tract (such as lung) from necropsied cases. Specimens should be submitted in a well labeled leak-proof container maintained at cold temperature during transport. Two working days. Several bacterial and viral pathogens are the causative agents of canine infectious respiratory disease (CIRD). Since these pathogens may cause similar clinical signs, diagnosis based on signs alone can be difficult. Therefore, a quick and accurate molecular diagnostic panel has been validated to identify the presence of causative CIRD agents. This panel includes common pathogens including Mycoplasma cynos, Mycoplasma canis, Bordetella bronchiseptica, canine adenovirus type 2, canine herpesvirus 1, canine parainfluenza virus, canine distemper virus, canine influenza virus A and canine respiratory coronavirus. It is recommended to test animals during early stages of the disease, and before starting antimicrobial treatment. Practioners may request additional tests such as bacterial aerobic , fungal and/or viral culture if other pathogens are suspected. $130.00 $130.00 Real-time PCR
Molecular Biology Canine influenza (H3N2) PCR Swab from upper respiratory tract or lung tissue (20 gr) The recommended specimen type to submit is a nasal swab submerged in a viral transport medium packed in ice This is a referral test. Specimens are shipped to Wisconsin Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory with an additional shipping fee. $57.00 $85.50 PCR(QL)
Molecular Biology Canine Influenza Virus rRT-PCR (Real Time RT-PCR) Swab from upper respiratory tract. The recommended specimen type to submit is a nasal swab submerged in a viral transport medium packed in ice. Contact the laboratory at 859-257-8283 before submitting any specimen not listed. 1 - 2 working days This test detects all influenza A types. A second PCR could be done for H3N8 subtype. The recommended specimen type to submit is a nasal swab obtained as early as possible following the onset of clinical signs submerged in a viral transport medium packed in ice. $29.00 $43.00 Real-time PCR(QL)
Molecular Biology Chlamydiales PCR Isolate (liquid suspension), swab or wash, or at least 200 mg fresh or fixed tissue. Contact the laboratory at 859-257-8283 before submitting any specimen not listed. 1-2 working days This procedure will detect veterinary pathogens within the order Chlamydiales. $35.00 $52.50 Real-time PCR(QL)
Molecular Biology Clostridioides difficile (toxin A gene) PCR 1 isolate (plate Bacterial isolate, scraping or feces. Contact the laboratory at 859-257-8283 before submitting any specimen not listed. 1-2 working days $29.00 $43.50 PCR(QL)
Molecular Biology Clostridioides difficile (toxin B gene) PCR 1 isolate (plate culture or liquid suspension) Bacterial isolate, scraping or feces. Contact the laboratory at 859-257-8283 before submitting any specimen not listed. 1-2 working days $29.00 $43.00 PCR(QL)
Molecular Biology Clostridium perfringens Toxin Typing PCR Bacterial isolate (plate culture or liquid suspension) Contact the laboratory at 859-257-8283 before submitting any specimen not listed. 1-2 working days The C. perfringens genotyping polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test is a qualitative assay designed to determine the genotype based on which of the different major toxin genes are present in an isolate ? the test does not detect the presence of the toxin proteins. $29.00 $43.00 PCR(QL)
Molecular Biology Leptospira spp. rPCR (Real Time PCR) Bacterial isolate, 20-40 mL urine, 200 mg fresh tissue (Kidney, Liver, Placenta). Special Equine Urine Collection Instructions for Leptospiral Testing- Administer 10 mL, I/V Lasix? (furosemide) to the horse and allow the animal to urinate once before collection. Collect 20-40mL, mid-stream catch, of second voided urine and then immediately submit the specimen to the laboratory (within 2 hours of collection and before 2:00 pm if bacteriologic testing is also requested). Contact the laboratory at 859-257-8283 before submitting any specimen not listed. 1 - 2 working days The Bacteriology section may request this test when the bacterium is isolated from clinical specimens. By design this assay detects only pathogenic Leptospira species. $38.00 $57.00 Real-time PCR(QL)
