Diagnostic Plans Feline Respiratory Panel Respiratory swabs (nasal and/or nasopharyngeal) from clinical cases or tissues from respiratory tract (such as lung) from necropsied cases. Specimens should be submitted in a well labeled leak-proof container maintained at cold temperature during transport. Two working days. Several bacterial and viral pathogens are the causative agents of Feline Infectious Respiratory Disease (FIRD) alone or combination. Since these pathogens may cause similar clinical signs, diagnosis based on signs alone can be difficult. Therefore, a quick and an accurate molecular diagnostic panel has been validated to identify the presence of causative FIRD agents. This panel includes common pathogens including Mycoplasma felis, Bordetella bronchiseptica, feline herpesvirus (FHV), feline calicivirus (FCV), Chlamydophila and influenza virus A (IA). It is recommended to test animals during early stages of the disease, and before starting antimicrobial treatment. Practioners may request other tests (with additional fee) such as bacterial aerobic, fungal and/or viral culture if other pathogens are suspected. $90.00 $90.00 Real-time PCR (QL)
