Bacteriology Identification - Fungal Fungal growth on agar medium Samples should be transported at room temperature. Storage of inoculated DTM and referral agar plate/slants in a refrigerator might cause condensation which could result in overgrowth by saprophytic microorganism. 1 - 21 days. Turn around time is delayed if several species are present on the submitted plate or slant. Subcultures of each fungus are often required and up to 21 days might be required before each species is identified. $19.00 $28.00 Variable, Microscopic &/or Culture(QL)
Bacteriology Leptospira FA 20-40 ml urine 10 - 25 g fresh tissue. Live animal: Urine. Dead animal: Pieces of kidney, placenta and/or liver. Collection of urine from - Live Animal: See Test Comments to right. Dead animal: pieces of kidney, placenta, and/or liver; specimen should not be over 4 hours old and must not be frozen. 2 - 3 Working Days Contact the laboratory for instructions concerning the collection and transport of urine for the leptospiral FA test. The specimen must be received by the Bacteriology Section prior to 2:00 p.m. Monday - Friday, and submitted within 4 hours of collection. Notify lab personnel that the urine sample needs to be processed IMMEDIATELY. $14.00 $21.00 Fluorescent Antibody (QL)
